The beauty of direct sales, or any entrepreneurial business, is that there is a direct connection between your personal-growth and your business-growth.

What are you looking for?

Watch your business grow exponentially as you personally develop and grow.    In direct sales we are looking for something better. We want to improve our lives, we may want a way out or a chance to change.

As an entrepreneur, if you are willing to invest in your personal growth you have the ability to shape your own destiny. That freedom appealed to many of us when we started our business.    Are you committed to investing in your personal growth?

In my last Coffee with Kim, my monthly online meeting for Metromom members, I was impressed by how many women are committed to their own personal-growth. In our lively conversation, it was soon apparent that these women recognized that they need to invest in themselves in order to be successful.

Most of them have coaches they are working with and see the value of our monthly Metromom trainings.

The Right Stuff

But, maybe you are thinking to yourself… I don’t have the time or I don’t have the money.

Moms often suffer from guilt. Many entrepreneurial moms I know feel guilty even thinking about putting themselves first, so their needs are often relegated to the backburner.  This reasoning won’t support you in achieving your goals.

You can’t afford NOT to invest in your personal-growth as an entrepreneur and even as a mother.

Instead of feeling guilty, recognize that when you invest in yourself everyone in your business and personal life benefits along with you.    So how do you invest in your personal growth?

Ways to Invest in Yourself

There are many different ways you can invest in your personal-growth. This can involve every aspect of your life from your health, to your spirituality, to your emotional well-being. Even if what you are doing appears unrelated, you’ll see results when you care for yourself.

Of course, as a business owner a lot of your focus will naturally be on ways to expand your business.

Here are a few specific ways that investing in yourself can achieve dramatic results in your business-growth:

  • Hire a coach
  • Join a mastermind group
  • Invest in marketing advice trainings, books or audio CDs
  • Go on a business retreat
  • Participate in local networking groups

You don’t need to make all these investments (of time or money) at once. Start with whatever investment you find to be motivating and realistic so you are not tempted to procrastinate.

Make a commitment to yourself and then take action.

Part of the philosophy behind Metromom.com is that we all need to continually invest in ourselves. I was thrilled to hear in my Coffee with Kim phone call that so many women are doing just that. They are getting involved in a community of women that are smart, savvy and successful women that will help them breakthrough to the next level in their business.

I encourage you to embrace your personal-growth and watch your business grow as a result.

You are so right, Paulette! One must invest in themselves both internally and externally. In other words, learn the skill set required to succeed in direct sales and learn what’s going on inside of you.
